Parañaque compound under lockdown
Parañaque City placed a compound in Barangay San Isidro under a 15-day calibrated lockdown from midnight on Aug. 20 to midnight Sept. 3.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said Silverio Compound will be placed under the lockdown to reduce the movements of its residents after the City Health Office (CHO) recorded a total of 323 confirmed and 95 active cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in the area.
City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) personnel have started clearing and decontamination activities in the area.
City Administrator lawyer Fernando Soriano said the CHO will conduct mass testing and contact tracing on the residents in the first three days of the calibrated and reasonable lockdown at Silverio Compound. Those found positive for the coronavirus will immediately be isolated.
Soriano said the families of the patients found positive for the disease will be given P5,000 cash aid, and that the city government will distribute family food packs house-to-house to all the residents of Silverio Compound while the place is under the lockdown and 24-hour curfew.
The city administrator also said all quarantine passes issued to the compound’s residents were temporarily suspended, and only those working for the government and frontliners will be allowed out of the compound to go to work.
As of Wednesday (Aug. 19), the city government has recorded a total of 3,826 confirmed cases.
