Paranaque mayor joins senior citizens assembly

Mayor Eric L. Olivarez attended and showed his support at the 3rd General Assembly of the Abraham's Children Senior Citizens Association Inc. this morning at Parañaque City Sports Complex in Barangay San Antonio. The kind-hearted mayor also gave some small gifts to the members of the said association. Vice Mayor Joan Villafuerte, District 1 Congressman Edwin L. Olivarez, and councilors from the first and second district also attended the event.

During the assembly, Mayor Eric L. Olivarez happily shared the upcoming opening of the hemodialysis center at Ospital ng Parañaque I on March 24, 2023. According to the good mayor, senior citizens who are undergoing dialysis are free to avail themselves of the service at the said hospital, which is a gift from the local government to improve the healthcare system of the city and the welfare of the senior citizens and citizens.

Mayor Eric emphasized that the free dialysis is on a first come, first served basis. He also shared the opening of Ospital ng Parañaque II as a general hospital to serve the senior citizens from the second district without traveling to OsPar 1 for medical treatment.

Furthermore, the good mayor presented the city government's programs for senior citizens such as the Centenarian Benefit for senior citizens aged 85 and above, birthday cash gifts, Christmas cash gifts amounting to P500.00, the annual Pamaskong Handog, and free movie screenings every Monday and Tuesday at SM City Malls and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Senior citizens can also avail themselves of free laboratory examinations at OsPar 1 and OsPar 2, as well as free vaccines.

The city government's next project for senior citizens is the construction of health and wellness centers in the first and second districts of the city. Mayor Eric L. Olivarez's programs and initiatives for the senior citizens of Parañaque City truly demonstrate the local government's commitment to ensuring the well-being of its elderly constituents.
