Baclaran Vendors Development Cooperative marks 46th year
Mayor Eric L. Olivarez graced the 46th anniversary celebration of the Baclaran Vendors Development Cooperative held at the East Ocean Palace today. The event was also marked by the cooperative's 44th general assembly, where the Mayor gave a message to the attendees.
The Baclaran Vendors Development Cooperative, composed of street vendors and small business owners, was established in 1977 with the aim of promoting the welfare and livelihood of its members. Over the years, the cooperative has expanded its reach and services, providing training and capacity-building programs, as well as access to financing and markets.
In his message, Mayor Olivarez recognized the significant role of the cooperative in the local economy, noting that it has contributed to the growth and development of the city. He also lauded the cooperative's efforts to promote social responsibility and environmental sustainability among its members, citing their programs on waste management and clean-up drives.
The Mayor also expressed his support for the cooperative's continued growth and success, promising to work with them in addressing their concerns and needs. He encouraged the members to continue their hard work and dedication to their businesses, saying that their success is not only for their own benefit but for the good of the community as well.
