Five areas in BF Homes Parañaque under lockdown
Parañaque City placed five areas in Barangay BF Homes under reasonable calibrated lockdown starting 6 a.m. on Friday (July 3) to 12 midnight on Sunday (July 5) because of the rising numbers of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases there.
The five areas in the barangay placed under calibrated lockdown were Clinic Ville Purok 1 and 2; identified streets at Sampaloc Site 2- Apple, Chico, Dalandan, and Calamansi; Mashsville – Purok 3, Purok 3A, Aratiles 1 and 2; J. Marquez Compound, and Target Range 1.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said these areas were placed under calibrated lockdown on the recommendation of Barangay BF Homes officials and the City Health Office (CHO).
Olivarez said according to CHO data, as of July 1 Barangay BF Homes has a total of 134 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 52 active cases and nine deaths, while the total number of cases in the entire city has reached 1,120.
The mayor said according to a report by Dr. Darius Sebastian, chief of the City’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), the number of COVID-19 cases in Barangay BF Homes are increasing daily because of residents disregarding health protocols.
During the three-day lockdown, Olivarez said that the city government will conduct mass testing at the identified areas. He added that there will be police deployed there to ensure that only medical frontliners will leave their respective houses.
He said the city government has prepared family food packs that will be distributed to the residents of the affected areas starting Friday afternoon up to Sunday.
The mayor also said that the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) will conduct total disinfection and flushing on July 4.
Olivarez is also asking for the full support of the residents in the affected areas to fight the spread of the disease.
