Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered the city’s health facilities to place on mandatory isolation all individuals found positive for coronavirus disease.

In a memorandum addressed to Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, director of Ospital ng Parañaque; Dr. Lea Grace Vasquez, hospital administrator of Ospital ng Parañaque II; Dr. Olga Virtusio, City Health Office (CHO) head; and Dr. Darius Sebastian, head of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), Olivarez said his order is in accordance with the existing protocols being implemented by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

He said the city government has identified six isolation facilities where they can isolate and treat patients that are positive for the virus: Ospital ng Parañaque I and II, Parañaque National High School main campus, Parañaque City College, San Antonio High School, and  Dr. Arcadio Santos National High School.

Olivarez said the CHO on July 12 recorded an additional 55 individuals affected with the virus, with the total number going from 1,556 on July 11, to 1,611.

According to a post on Olivarez’s Facebook page, Barangay BF, which was placed on a reasonable calibrated lockdown on July 3 with 134 individuals affected with the coronavirus, still has the highest number of cases at 169.

Barangay BF was followed by barangays Sun Valley with 68, San Antonio and San Dionisio with 47, and Tambo with 44.
