Paranaque organizes Binyagang Bayan
The second Binyagang Bayan organized by the local government of Parañaque under the leadership of Mayor Eric Olivarez was successfully held on Saturday, March 25, at Our Lady of the Airways Parish in Pasay City.
The ceremony was attended by 134 children who were baptized from the first and second districts of the city. Mayor Eric Olivarez, along with his wife Unang Ginang Aileen Claire Olivarez, served as the godparents of the children.
The Binyagang Bayan is a free baptismal service that aims to provide an opportunity for families who are unable to afford the expenses of a traditional baptismal ceremony. With the help of the Local Civil Registry under Ms. Johanna Nemenzo and the Special Services Office under Ms. Angelie Mijares Co, the event was made possible. The children also received a small gift from the mayor, including financial assistance, food packs, and souvenirs.
Aside from the baptismal ceremony, a photobooth was set up where the children and their families could take free pictures to commemorate the event. The organizers made sure that all health protocols were observed during the event to ensure the safety of the attendees.
The Binyagang Bayan ni Mayor Eric is a program that is held three times a year. It has become a significant event in Parañaque City, as it brings the community together to celebrate the gift of life and the Christian faith. The program is a testament to the local government's commitment to uplifting the welfare of its constituents, especially those who are in need.
Mayor Eric Olivarez expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the community for their support in making the event a success. He emphasized the importance of family and faith, stating that these are the values that guide his leadership in serving the people of Parañaque.
The Binyagang Bayan ni Mayor Eric serves as an inspiration to other local government units to implement programs that promote the welfare of their constituents, especially the marginalized sectors. With the government's commitment to providing basic services and uplifting the lives of its people, there is hope for a better future for all Filipinos.
